Site information
The Northeast Service Cooperative is currently in the process of gathering site information for the Northeast Minnesota Middle Mile Fiber Project, the broadband infrastructure project that will provide a 915-mile fiber optic backbone in eight counties in northeast Minnesota. For background information, including maps, on the project, please visit: http://www.nesc.k12.mn.us/broadband.
The Northeast MN Middle Mile Fiber Project focuses on "critical services" including education, public libraries, health, city, economic development, county, state, federal and other critical non-profit government agencies.
In the initial project proposal, 221 sites have been indentified. This survey tool will enable additional sites that have not been included initially to be identified with the potential to connect to the project. However, even if your sites have already been identified, please input all sites. It's important to identify critical service sites during the planning phase and prior to fiber being placed in the ground. Examples of critical service sites could include: school, health care facility, library, fire station, ambulance, city hall, business park, community center.
To input site information, go to http://ruby.nenet.us/sitesurveytool/ Please fill out to the best of your ability.
We are continuing to accept site submissions. However some may no longer make the construction time lines that we are under. If this is the case, we will let you know.
The next step for those who have filled out site information is to add a curcuit. If you have questions on the details of this or if you need technical support: Mail to: support@nenet.us; 1-866-306-3926.
If you have any questions, please contact Lyle MacVey at 218-748-7623 or Melissa Cox at 218-748-7609.
