Water is Life Art and Design Contest
The Northeast Service Cooperative is excited to partner with the Freshwater Society in promoting an Art and Design Contest.
This year's contest, Work for Water Art and Design Contest, encourages senior high students to create art, video, graphic design, illustration, etc. to illustrate urban runoff and motivate others to change behavior to decrease this type of pollution.
Key elements of the program that differ from the previous Art Contest:
* Winning designs will be used in our program promotion and marketing
campaigns, which may include PSAs, billboards, online and social media, etc.
* Details, brochures and promotional materials will be distributed
electronically.
* All entries will be submitted on line via www.freshwater.org
* The Freshwater Society will assemble a panel of judges who will
evaluate all submittals to determine regional and state finalists for each
contest.
* Regional finalists will be chosen without a regional event. Three
finalists from each service cooperative region will move forward to the
state competition. Regional finalists will be publicized via press releases
which can be utilized by/in each region.
* Two competitions will be held each year. During 2011-2012, the
first will run from September 26, 2011-January 13, 2012 and the second from
January 27, 2012- April 30, 2012.
* A first, second and third place state winner will be chosen for each
of the contests and will receive a scholarship. All others will receive
certificates of participation.
Visit www.freshwater.org to view the past winners and finalists.
The art contest is open to all 9th-12th grade students in their Service Cooperative regions.
