VEBA / Health Care Initiatives
VEBA health insurance plans are designed to help control rising insurance premiums and encourage employees to have a more active role in their medical decisions.
VEBA is a consumer directed health plan that helps employees to become aware of the costs associated with office visits, prescription drugs, after hour care, etc. which will help utilization trends. The employer helps fund the deductible through a trust account. Upon retirement, employees may utilize the funds left in their account for medical premiums and expenses.
