Stock Market Game
The Stock Market Game is a highly successful, interactive, interdisciplinary educational tool that motivates learning about economics, finance, and the American economic system. Using the internet, student teams in grades 4-12 participate for up to 14 weeks in a stock market simulation.
SMG gives students the chance to invest in an online portfolio. They think they're playing a game. You know they're learning economic and financial concepts they'll use for the rest of their lives.
Participating students meet core educational requirements while engaging in an exciting simulation of how the investment world works. By promoting valuable and fundamental skills such as teamwork and decision-making, SMG makes learning interesting for students of all ability levels and fits easily into many disciplines and extra-curricular activities. The thrill of competing in a competition keeps students' interest and excitement, and to reward their research and investment savvy, prizes are offered for the top two team in each grade level division.
Teachers needn't be an expert on investments or economics. The SMG program will provide training and an ongoing support system.
