Deaf and Hard of Hearing

The Northeast Service Cooperative Regional Low Incidence Project provides audiological services for students with suspected or diagnosed hearing loss.

Services Available:

Audiology

  • Provide comprehensive, educationally relevant hearing tests, and classroom acoustic evaluations.
  • Makes recommendations for and ensures the proper fit and functioning of hearing aids and other listening devices.
  • Collaborates with school, parents, teachers and community agencies.
  • Assists in program decisions as a member of the educational team.
  • Provides in-service training to parents, children and school personnel on hearing, hearing loss, hearing aids, and other technology to optimize residual hearing.
  • Promotes leadership to ensure that all infants, toddlers and youth with hearing loss are promptly identified, evaluated and provided with appropriate intervention services.
  • Coordinates Regional Low Incidence inservice/training days.
  • Participation in Statewide Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Team Training.
