Deaf and Hard of Hearing
The Northeast Service Cooperative Regional Low Incidence Project provides audiological services for students with suspected or diagnosed hearing loss.
Services Available:
Audiology
- Provide comprehensive, educationally relevant hearing tests, and classroom acoustic evaluations.
- Makes recommendations for and ensures the proper fit and functioning of hearing aids and other listening devices.
- Collaborates with school, parents, teachers and community agencies.
- Assists in program decisions as a member of the educational team.
- Provides in-service training to parents, children and school personnel on hearing, hearing loss, hearing aids, and other technology to optimize residual hearing.
- Promotes leadership to ensure that all infants, toddlers and youth with hearing loss are promptly identified, evaluated and provided with appropriate intervention services.
- Coordinates Regional Low Incidence inservice/training days.
- Participation in Statewide Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Team Training.
